Brie-Comte-Robert, main town of the county, is located along the Brie Land, at seventeen miles from Paris. The surface of the city is 1993 ha (with 1753 ha cultivated). It’s crossed by two rivers : the Yerres and the Barbançonne. Brie-Comte-Robert gets 15210 peoples: the Briards.
Brie is characterized by its economic dynamism. The town gets three activity areas, regrouping three hundred enterprises. The economic pole of the town will be reinforced by a fourth zone, being achieved soon.
The situation of Brie gives to the economic park a good position. Indeed, the city is a crossing point between northern and southern Ile-de-France by the “Francilienne road” and permits a fast access to Paris and its two airports.
The city hall, in relation with a lot of partners, initiates great projects, as the new child care center (2009), an Alzheimer disease unit (2010), a nautical center later,…
The city has a medieval center, but also three historic monuments: Saint-Etienne church (13th century), the old castle (12th century) and the façade of the Hôtel-Dieu (13th century).
Brie-Comte-Robert enjoys a pleasant life space, where environment and natural spaces have a favored place. Indeed, “François Mitterrand Park” purposes a real space of relaxation and walking, with its 25 ha of nature and its pond.
The center has green spaces too and gets three gardens with games for kids: Bienfaîtes garden, the City Hall Park and Grenouillère square.
At last, the “Chemin des roses” (for pedestrians and bikes) encircles the city with harmony.
